The Ceramic Botanist by Louise Condon Designs

My main range is Ceramic Botanist by Louise Condon Designs is based purely on botanicals. I create vases from minis to large scale statement pieces, jugs, wall plaques, splash backs, plates, large statement platters, garden style sculptural pieces and a recent addition lights.

I work with stoneware clays, crank and porcelain. My work is fired up to 1260degrees. I create a glossy effect on porcelain pieces and stoneware pieces are glazed on the inside to hold water. I glaze all over upon request. I colour my ceramics using oxides and stains to highlight the imprints left after firing by the plants. Every piece i create is unique as i use real plants to capture that moment in time.

 

I work on a variety of personal commissions creating pieced using botanicals from gardens which is a popular gift idea for plant lovers. I find it intriguing to see which stems people select to represent their connection to their gardens.
