Nature and Clay: My Journey as a Ceramic Botanist and Handmade Ceramic Artist

I often get asked, “Who are you and what do you do?” Well, I’m a ceramicist deeply inspired by nature and seasonal blooms. My passion is combining the beauty of real flowers with handmade slab-rolled ceramics — capturing a moment in time where nature meets craft.

Every piece I create tells a story. Using pressed flowers in ceramics, I celebrate the seasons and the delicate, fleeting beauty they bring. From the skeletal forms of winter to the lush blooms of summer, I work with what nature offers, making each item a unique handmade ceramic vase, jug, or decorative piece full of life.
The process of slab-rolled ceramics allows me to shape these botanical moments into beautiful, functional art — including handcrafted flower vases, plates, jugs, and wall plaques. It’s a careful dance between material and nature, where precision and creativity come together.

For me, these handmade botanical ceramics aren’t just objects — they’re connections to the natural world, frozen in clay to be enjoyed every day. They remind me, and hopefully others, to slow down and appreciate the subtle details that surround us throughout the year.

If you’re looking for unique ceramic gifts inspired by nature, or want to bring a seasonal touch to your home decor, take a look at my work on Instagram. It’s been an incredible journey capturing these natural moments, and I’m so grateful to share it with you.
